Implementing the Kids in the Know Program

About the Videos:
The online videos Implementing the Kids in the Know Program supports educators who are preparing to deliver the lessons. The videos address the following:
- the purpose and goals of the program
- the 7 root safety strategies, which form the foundation of the program
- steps to take before starting the program
- how to introduce the lessons to students in a fun, age-appropriate way
- a demonstration of the Kids in the Know Program showcasing specific lesson content, activities, student learning outcomes, and safety skits in action
- students from Grades 4–8 discussing what they learned during a Kids in the Know lesson and why they think personal safety lessons are important
These online videos come with Commit to Kids: Foundational Information for Safeguarding Children from Sexual Abuse, a 25 minute video which includes the following information:
- the scope of child sexual abuse
- barriers to disclosure
- grooming and boundary transgressions
- how you can help safeguard children from sexual abuse
What to expect:
- 8 videos that take a total of 60 minutes to complete (3–13 minutes each)
- Videos are on-demand and can be watched independently or as a group
- Can be completed in one or multiple sittings
- A final quiz (4 questions) that results in a record of participation with a score of 100%

The Canadian Centre for Child Protection offers online professional development to help those working with children recognize, prevent, and respond to child sexual abuse. Our training builds awareness, reduces risk, and empowers communities to better safeguard children.
