SAFETY GUIDELINES
When you are accessing the Internet, remember the following guidelines:
- Always keep your personal information to yourself and off the Internet.
- Always check fi rst with your parents before sending any photographs online.
- Always check fi rst with your parents before meeting someone in person that you fi rst met on the Internet. Remember to meet in a public place and bring a trusted adult with you.
- Always check fi rst with your parents before entering a chat room. Remember that people on the Internet are not always who they say they are.
- Always trust your instincts. If something does not seem right or makes you feel uncomfortable, speak to a trusted adult.
- Always talk with your parents about what you are doing online and who you are speaking to.
- Always check fi rst with your parents before signing up for anything on the Internet.
- Always treat other people the way that you would like to be treated.
- Always ignore emails and instant messages when you are unsure of the sender.
- Always keep your password private.
- Always turn off the computer if someone harrasses, threatens or makes you feel uncomfortable in any way.
- Always review your Internet Safety Guidelines so that you can have a fun online experience.
